About Us

Melanie Johnson

Melanie Johnson

Melanie is a Mississippi girl living in a Tennessee world for the past 5 years, and she loves it!

In her younger years, Melanie worked at Bellsouth and later owned a Masonry Company while  also assisting with the construction and design aspects of projects. During this time, she served on the Board of Directors for AGC and a Trustee for the Workers’ Compensation Fund. In 2006, she received the Member of the Year award for her outstanding work and contributions to victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Because of her love for children, she also volunteered her time at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.

Speaking of loves, Melanie loves food and wine. She has traveled to many wineries and is an excellent connoisseur of wine, along with being a “Certified Food Judge” for cooking competitions.

In her free time, she enjoys being Mimi to 2 grandchildren and traveling the world. Each destination has left an impression and created a passion for unique designs.

She only thought she was retiring, and then Sanctuary South came along to make life fun and busy again!

Nicki is also a Mississippi turned Alabama and then Tennessee girl. Nicki’s family finally feels at home in middle Tennessee.

Nicki’s experience before Sanctuary South was in the field of education. She graduated from Mississippi college with a Bachelor, Master, and Specialist Degree in Education followed by 10 years of teaching and 2 years as a teacher supervisor for the State of MS.

Upon moving to TN, she also obtained her real estate license to invest in rental property. She has an active license, has helped families buy and sell around the area, and was awarded the $5-8 million dollar producer award. She donates 10% of each real estate sale back into the community.

What keeps Nicki busy? Her children! Raegan is currently in 8th grade at CPA and plays many sports, along with Rivers who is currently in 7th grade and also enjoys multiple sports. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and trying out unique restaurants around the area, especially ones who make an awesome spicy lemon drop martini.

By the Lord’s grace, they call Fernvale home, minutes from Westhaven, but feels like another world “out in the country”. She has enjoyed meeting customers at Sanctuary South and looks forward to the non-profit give back shopping day each month.

Sanctuary South Charity Work

Sanctuary South Loves To Give Back

Sanctuary South is passionate about giving back to the local community and is involved with local non-profit organizations.

It’s only with the help of our community that we can spread awareness and enable these organizations to continue to serve so many.

How It Works: Sanctuary South chooses a different non-profit each month.

10% from the day’s sales on the 2nd Wednesday of each month goes to the selected organization. In the first 6 months of hosting these days, we have been blessed to give back almost $4,000.

To learn how we help and who we serve, follow us on social media to see the latest updates and join us for a give back day.
